フルートコンクール・シンボルマーク本コンクールは、世界の有望な若きフルーティストを世界の楽壇に飛翔させるとともに音楽を通じて国際交流と友好親善を図ることを願い、1985年（昭和60年）「ユニバーシアード神戸大会」を契機に後世に残していく文化イベントとして同年8月、第1回を開催し、フルート単独の定期的な国際コンクールとしては世界で唯一のもので、以降4年毎に開催しています。また、このコンクールは、1987年（昭和62年）4月25日に国際音楽コンクール世界連盟に正式加盟しており、世界的にも権威のあるコンクールとして位置づけられています。過去このコンクールで上位に入賞した人は、エマニュエル・パユ、エミリー・バイノンをはじめ、今や世界のフルート界の主流を成しており、世界への登竜門として音楽関係者より高い評価を頂いております。

The Kobe International Flute Competition (KIFC) was started in order to provide young, promising flutists in the world with an opportunity to be launched onto the international stage, as well as to enhance international exchange and friendship through music. The first competition was held as a cultural event in August, 1985, the same year the Kobe Universiade was held, intending that it be passed down through the ages. Since its inception, it has been held every four years and is the only regular international competition exclusively for flute in the world. The competition also officially became a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions on April 25, 1987, and has been recognized as one of the most definitive competitions. Past prize winners, including Emmanuel Pahud and Emily Beynon, are now leading players in the international flute circle, which contributes to the competition's winning high acceptance as a gateway to success in the international music arena.

コンクールの構成

予備審査（録音・書類審査）に合格した計50名程度を対象に第1次、第2次、第3次審査、本選を行う。

Structure of the Competition
About fifty competitors who have passed the qualifying screening (by recorded performance and document submission) are allowed to participate. There will be a first round, a second round, a third round and the final.

応募資格

1980年（昭和55年）3月29日以降に出生した者。

Eligibility
Those born on or after March 29, 1980 are eligible to apply.

2012年（平成24年）4月1日(日曜)から2012年（平成24年）7月16日(月曜)まで（必着）
